Fannie Knowling McNeil : ウィキペディア英語版 | Fannie Knowling McNeil Frances "Fannie" Knowling McNeil (1869–1928) was a Canadian suffragist and artist. McNeil was born in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, and likely received her art education in England. She was a prominent social activist for not only women's rights but also child welfare, literacy, and other issues. She was the secretary of the Women's Franchise League, which advocated for women's suffrage through the 1920s, eventually achieving the vote in 1925. She was also one of the first three women to run for office in Newfoundland, although she was unsuccessful.
